John Santaferraro is the Founder and President of Ferraro Consulting. With 20 years of experience as a big data analytics executive, analyst, and consultant, John has co-founded a data warehouse startup company, eventually sold to Teradata and held executive big data marketing positions in top tech companies like Tandem, Compaq, HP, and most recently, at ParAccel and Actian. In addition, he founded his own consulting company, Ferraro Consulting, helping technology companies accelerate business by uniting sales and marketing around a common solution selling framework. His consulting also includes analytics value creation, big data strategy, and technology selection. John is also an industry analyst in the big data analytics market, as part of the Boulder Business Intelligence Braintrust (BBBT).
Michael A. Schiff: Founder and Principal Analyst of MAS Strategies, an independent data warehousing industry analyst firm. Mike was formerly the Vice President of the Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence service at Current Analysis as well as the Executive Director – Data Warehousing and Advanced Decision Support for Oracle Corporation’s Public Sector Group. He was also the Director of Software AG’s Data Management program where he was one of the industry’s earliest proponents of the data mart concept. While at Digital Equipment Corporation in 1984, he formulated the architecture for one of the first data warehouse implementations. Mike earned Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from MIT’s Sloan School of Management specializing in operations research as an undergraduate, and information systems as a graduate. His prior experience as an IT Director and Systems and Programming Manager provide him with a thorough understanding of the technical, business, and political issues that must be addressed for any successful systems implementation or product launch.
Kevin Sechowski: Business Intelligence Practice Lead of Kenway Consulting, a Chicago-based management and technology consulting company founded on the principles of being good and being truthful, focusing on providing unmatched quality and client service. In an odyssey that took me well over three decades, I have developed a keen interest in analytics and predicting performance of complex enterprise solutions. Al Shain is a technologist with a proven track record as a visionary in data science and data engineering with more than 25 years as an IT leader, architect and data engineer. Al has built a lifelong career in all things data. He has experience engaging all levels of the corporation in best practices and strategies designed to create comprehensive, fully integrated, enterprise information systems. His passion is making the misunderstood, the under-estimated, and the out of focus absolutely clear. Al holds several patents for a series software programs he wrote and designed using Computer Vision, Predictive Analytics, and Machine Learning that understand, learn and predict outcomes based upon unstructured data (video and images) and empirical statistics.
Alec Sharp: has managed his consulting and education business, Clariteq Systems Consulting Ltd. for 30 years. Serving clients from Ireland to India, and Washington to Wellington, Alec’s expertise includes facilitation, strategy development, business analysis, data management, and, of course, business process change. In addition to an active consulting practice that keeps him up-to-date on real world issues, he conducts top-rated workshops and conference presentations on these topics globally – on five continents last year alone! Alec is the author of “Workflow Modeling, second edition” (Artech House, 2009) which is widely used as a consulting guide and MBA text, and is a best-seller in the Business Process Management field with a “5 star” Amazon.com rating. Rick Sherman: Founder of Athena IT Solutions, a Boston-based consulting firm providing business intelligence, data integration and data warehousing consulting, training and vendor services. Rick has been involved in BI and DW since 1987. He has shared his expertise in over 100 industry articles and dozens of speaking engagements and webinars. An adjunct faculty member at Northeastern University, Graduate School of Engineering, he also teaches DW/BI classes to clients. Garett Shulman: Founder and Principal of Technical Advantage, LLC. Garett is a technology consultant and analyst with over 20 years of professional experience in Information Technology. Garett’s recent entry into Business Intelligence services complements extensive experience designing and operating robust and secure cloud infrastructures, enterprise scale relational and NoSQL data systems, as well as spec’ing and implementing web and mobile applications.

Vin managed from conception through delivery multiple customer profitability data warehouse analytic solutions for large global banks, including JP Morgan Chase. As Chief Architect for Data Warehousing and Analytics for the Finance function at JP Morgan Chase, achieved a balanced delivery-oriented strategy as well as a multi-year roadmap for evolution. Was an early adopter of ETL tools, recognizing their ability to reduce time to market for analytic solutions. Vin is a founding member of the technology advisory council of the College of Westchester, a private college focusing on offering an affordable and effective education. Evangelos Simoudis: Senior Managing Director at Trident Capital. He focuses on investments in business analytics, software (SaaS) and Internet businesses (advertising technology and e-commerce). Evangelos earned a PhD in computer science from Brandeis University and a BS in electrical engineering from Caltech.

Kevin Smith is the Founder & CEO of NextWave BI.
At NextWave, Kevin is responsible for helping companies build and bring to market data products using embedded analytics. He uses his experience as a product owner and working at analytics firms to help businesses develop engaging analytic products that drive revenue and customer engagement.
Prior to NextWave BI, Kevin held positions leading embedded analytics teams, designing SaaS products and performance management strategies, and managing product management for companies such as Birst, ServiceSource, SAP Labs, and Qwest Communications.
A recovering “”Six Sigma Black Belt,”” Kevin also led corporate process management and improvement initiatives at Qwest/LCI International and MCI, and served at Booz·Allen Hamilton as a consultant in their Process Improvement practice.
Kevin holds a B.S. in Finance, as well as an M.B.A. in Quality/Process Management, both from the University of Maryland, College Park.
Andrew is the Credera Business Intelligence (BI) practice leader with 15 years of BI consulting experience in various industries. David Stodder: Director of BI Reasearch at TDWI. He focuses on providing research-based insight and best practices for organizations implementing BI, analytics, performance management, data discovery, data visualization, and related technologies and methods. He is the author of TDWI Best Practices Reports on mobile BI and customer analytics in the age of social media, as well as TDWI Checklist Reports on data discovery and information management. He has chaired TDWI conferences on BI agility and big data analytics. Mr. Stodder has provided thought leadership on BI, information management, and IT management for over two decades. He has served as vice president and research director with Ventana Research, and he was the founding chief editor of Intelligent Enterprise, where he served as editorial director for nine years.
Yacheng Sun: is assistant professor of Marketing at Leeds School of Business, University of Colorado. He received a Ph.D. in Marketing and a M.A. in Economics from Indiana University at Bloomington. His research interests include dynamic customer relationship management in subscription services, proprietary and coalition customer loyalty programs, one-of-a-kind services (e.g., financial counseling) and peer influences in online social shopping networks. He currently teaches undergraduate pricing and channel strategies and a PhD Seminar of empirical marketing models.
