Topic:
Prescriptive Analytics: Results without the Complexity
Summary:
This first-ever BBBT presentation by Frontline Systems, the “alternative to analytics complexity,” will cover its tools for predictive and prescriptive analytics: data mining and forecasting, simulation and risk analysis, and cost-saving optimization — with analytic models built in Excel, its cloud-centric modeling language RASON, or in a programming language, plus deployment using tools like Power BI, Tableau, PowerApps and Microsoft Flow.
Presenter(s):
Daniel Fylstra – President
Dan Fylstra is president and CEO of Frontline Systems. As co-founder of VisiCorp in 1978, he is known for his role in the development and marketing of VisiCalc, the original spreadsheet program. Fylstra founded Frontline Systems in Palo Alto, California in 1987, and relocated to Incline Village at Lake Tahoe, Nevada in 1992. He also co-founded software firm Compass Modeling Solutions Inc. in 1996, sold the company to ILOG Inc. in 1999, and served as CEO of startup biotechnology company Sierra Sciences Inc. from 1999 to 2002. Fylstra holds a BSEE degree in Computer Science from MIT and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Company Profile:
Over more than 25 years since it created the Solver in Microsoft Excel, Frontline Systems has helped “citizen modelers” in over 9,000 organizations earn an ROI from prescriptive analytics, typically in months not years. More than 500,000 MBA students — now in the workforce — have been introduced to prescriptive analytics modeling with Frontline’s software in the classroom. Today Frontline offers a comprehensive, cloud-first software suite for predictive and prescriptive analytics, that leverages the “Microsoft tool stack” and emphasizes ease of learning and quick results in a hands-on setting – yet grows to handle some of the largest and most challenging prescriptive models currently in use.
