Zoomdata use cases, technology and business strategy overview
Summary:
This overview of Zoomdata will start with a review of why Zoomdata was built in response to major shifts in the data landscape and the challenges those shifts pose to traditional data stores and BI tools. This will be followed by an overview of the company and product, highlighting Zoomdata’s unique advantages for deploying modern BI on modern data platforms, with a live demonstration of these capabilities. Next we will dive into platform architecture and future roadmap.

Nick Halsey – CEO
Nick joined Zoomdata as CMO and was subsequently promoted to COO before becoming our CEO. Before joining Zoomdata, Nick was CMO for Keynote Systems. Previously Nick was the CMO and EVP of corporate development at SugarCRM, where he managed the company’s overall go-to-market strategy. Prior to SugarCRM, Halsey served as the vice president of marketing and product management at Jaspersoft Corporation, the leading open source business intelligence company. He was a co-founder and CEO of Biz360, an innovator in social media monitoring and market intelligence solutions that was acquired by Attensity Group, and also served as the founding vice president of sales and marketing for Brio Software, where he helped lead the company to $150 million in sales and to a successful IPO. Nick also served as the CMO and executive vice president of corporate development at Alphablox, guiding it to an acquisition by IBM. He holds a BA from Stanford University.
Justin Langseth – Chairman and Founder
Justin Langseth is Founder of Zoomdata, Inc and serves as its Chief Strategy Officer and President. Langseth also serves as a Venture Partner at NextGen Venture Partners. He co-founded Clarabridge, Inc. in 2005 and served as its President & Chief Technology Officer. Langseth previously co-founded Claraview Inc. and served as its Chief Technology Officer. Prior to co-founding Claraview, he was founder and Chief Technology Officer of Strategy.com, a real-time data analysis and alerting subsidiary of MicroStrategy. Prior to joining MicroStrategy, Langseth served as a software design consultant in the electric utility, managed care, and pharmaceutical industries. He holds 18 patents with many more pending. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he received a SB in Management of Information Technology from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Ruhollah Farchtchi – CTO
Ruhollah has over 15 years experience in enterprise data management, architecture and systems integration. Prior to Zoomdata, Ruhollah held management positions at BearingPoint, Booz-Allen and Unisys. He holds an M.S. in Information Technology from George Mason University.
Ian Fyfe – Senior Director Product Marketing
Ian is an accomplished product marketing and product management professional with a passion for creating, guiding and bringing to market data analytics and data integration products and platforms. Ian previously headed product marketing at Pentaho (acquired by Hitachi) and product management and marketing at Jaspersoft (acquired by Tibco), with previous experience at Peoplesoft, Informix, Epiphany and Business Objects.
