He is the co-author (with Bill Venables) of the tutorial manual, An Introduction to R, and one of the originating developers of the ESS: Emacs Speaks Statistics project. Prior to joining Revolution Analytics, David was the director of product management for S-PLUS at Insightful, Inc.
Michele Chambers – Chief Strategy Officer
Michele Chambers is an entrepreneurial executive with over 25 years of industry experience. As the Chief Strategy Officer at Revolution Analytics, Michele is responsible for corporate strategy, product management and product marketing. Michele’s passion is helping companies identify new areas to apply analytics that drive high business value and create sustainable differentiation in the market. Michele was formerly the GM & VP Big Data Analytics at IBM. Her team was responsible for working with customers to fully exploit the IBM Big Data platform including the IBM Netezza appliance via scalable, high performance advanced analytics on IBM Netezza’s massively parallel computing platform. Michele was responsible for guiding the vision, strategy, sales and go-to-market for IBM Netezza Analytics. Michele is the co-author of “Big Data Big Analytics” (Wiley) that helps businesses and IT managers/executives understand the value of big data through practical use case stories along with consumable descriptions of the enabling technology. Michele holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Nova Southeastern University and an MBA from Duke University.

Summary:
Getting value out of big data with analytics can be tough, and challenges the status quo of many tools and infrastructures. Bill Jacobs is Revolution Analytics’ VP of Product Marketing. Bill brings a rich perspective on Big Data Analytics developed over the past ten years working for companies including IBM/Netezza and Pivotal, and has helped users pioneer Big Data analytics for telecom, financial services, health and life sciences, retail, manufacturing and insurance companies.
At Revolution Analytics, Bill manages Revolution’s efforts to converge the simplicity of R analytics with the capacity of Hadoop and MPP EDWs. Bill helps users identify opportunities to improve business outcomes using big data analytics by applying Revolution Analytics’ streamlined approach to modeling, development and integration of Big Data analytics.
Most recently, Bill helped Revolution Analytics to launch the latest revision of Revolution R Enterprise adding groundbreaking support for in-database in-Teradata and in-Hadoop analytics that provide scale heretofore unavailable to users of R.
