David Besner comes from Cisco Systems where he was Chief Technology Officer for Data Virtualization, a position created through Cisco’s acquisition of Composite Software in 2013. In his time at Composite Software, as VP of Engineering and then CTO, he oversaw the engineering team that built the award-winning Composite Information Server; led product strategy, and evangelized the benefits of data virtualization to the market. Prior to his time at Composite Software, Besemer served as a principal of two software consulting firms that served major enterprises, including The Walt Disney Company and Apple Computer. He also founded and sold the online company Cognitio Products, and served in software management and/or engineering positions with NeXT Computer, Kidder-Peabody & Company, and General Electric.
Venkat Krishnamurthy – VP of Product
Venkat heads up Product Management at OmniSci. He joined OmniSci from the CTO office at Cray, the supercomputing pioneer, where he was responsible for leading Cray’s push into Analytics and AI. Earlier, he was Senior Director at YarcData, a pioneering graph analytics startup, where he bootstrapped product and data science/engineering teams. Prior to YarcData, he was a Director of Product Management at Oracle, where he led the launch of the Oracle Financial Services Data Platform, and earlier spent several years at Goldman Sachs, where he led one of the earliest successful projects utilizing machine learning in Operational Risk incident classification. Venkat is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University and the Indian Institute of Technology Chennai, and also a certified Financial Risk Manager.
Rachel Wang – Director of Product Management
Rachel is a Director of Product Management at OmniSci, where she heads product management for Immerse, OmniSci’s interactive data visualization product. Prior to this role, Rachel worked on initiatives touching billions of users as part of Facebook’s Core Growth team. She first discovered the power of using data analytics to drive business decisions as an engagement manager at Applied Predictive Technologies (acquired by Mastercard in 2015). She holds a bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College.

An early member of the Platfora team, Peter leads the charge to put big data in users’ hands in a beautiful and easy way. Peter Schlampp remembers playing with the keys of a TRS-80 when he was seven years old — and since then, he’s been destined to build category-defining products that make businesses faster, safer, smarter, and more profitable. Before coming to Platfora, Peter was vice president of marketing and product management at Solera, where he built the first DVR for network traffic. At IronPort, where Peter was senior director of product management, he defined the world’s first email security appliance, making the world safe from spam and viruses. He then became director and general manager of the Cisco/IronPort Development Center in Bangalore, India. Peter has a B.S. in Biology from Boston College.
